Miriam Rachel Magen-Shields
Miriam Rachel leads the global Roshem group of companies as CEO. She is a Co-Founder and the General Partner at Roshem Ventures, an impact investment firm, based in Ramat Gan, Israel, that manages a portfolio of real estate, agriculture, and impact-driven technology assets across Israel, Serbia, South Africa and North America. She founded Roshem Impact, a Certified B Corporation, the in-house Capacity Building and Technical Assistance division of Roshem. She is a Co-Founder and Board Member at the Roshem Foundation and Institute for impact finance, community investment and regenerative agriculture where she develops and teaches courses to private sector business leaders and investors.
She leads the development of impact data, verification, certification and impact-financial integration for the RAZ Finance IT platform and impact investment fund.
Her areas of expertise include due diligence, impact investing, intellectual property, employment law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, anti-money laundering, Environment, Social and Governance best practices across Canada, the EU, Israel, Serbia, South Africa, the UK, and the USA.
Across the global commodity and mercantile trade ecosystem, her work pioneered the introduction of impact measurement and management best practices. She leads the production and distribution of publications and media focused on sustainable inclusive business thought leadership.
Miriam Rachel completed a Graduate Certificate in Impact Investing in Africa at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and a Fellowship with Dr. Stephanie Gripne, PhD, at the Impact Finance Center and Impact Investing Institute in Denver, Colorado. She shares her time between Israel and Serbia. Her sources of inspiration are Hassidic Judaism, her 5 children, the Land of Israel, her family’s organic and regenerative ranch in Serbia, as well as the ocean, forest, mountains, rivers and streams.
